OT cybersecurity training
OT Cybersecurity for Asset Owners & Operators
Practical methods to detect, respond to, and mitigate OT cyber risks.
Best forOT engineers, plant operators, maintenance leads, system owners. Format: 2–3 days | Hands-on exercises.
Service overview
The skills OT engineers need to execute security responsibilities
A role-specific program focused on protecting industrial assets and ensuring safe, secure, and compliant operations. We offer role-based training tailored to the audience, preparing individuals to take up OT security roles (analysts, engineers, architects).
Many organizations are asking existing OT engineers to take on cybersecurity responsibilities without giving them the foundation to do it effectively. Our training closes that gap with practical, hands-on skills.
Key topics
- Asset inventory and network segmentation (zones and conduits)
- Risk assessment as per IEC 62443-3-2, with target security levels
- Vulnerability, patch and change management in critical systems
- Secure remote access and vendor management
- Incident response, recovery, and tabletop exercises
- Alignment to IEC 62443 for asset owners and operators
- ICS-specific threat landscape and attack scenarios
- Hands-on practical exercises throughout
Our approach
Engagement methodology
The steps of the engagement, designed around the operational constraints of live industrial environments.
OT security fundamentals
Establish a shared understanding of OT cybersecurity concepts, the IEC 62443 framework for asset owners, and how security responsibilities map to existing operational roles.
Asset inventory and criticality
Hands-on session: build an asset inventory using passive discovery techniques. Practice criticality classification based on safety, production, and regulatory factors.
Network segmentation and zone design
Apply zone and conduit concepts to a practical network topology exercise. Understand what good segmentation looks like and how to identify gaps in an existing architecture.
Risk assessment as per IEC 62443-3-2
Hands-on session: run the IEC 62443-3-2 process on a sample plant: define the system under consideration, carry out the initial risk assessment, partition it into zones and conduits, then carry out the detailed risk assessment that sets a target security level for each zone and conduit and records the security requirements.
Vulnerability and patch management
Understand how to identify applicable vendor advisories, evaluate patch applicability for production systems, and manage the change control process for firmware and software updates in OT environments.
Vendor and remote access management
Practice evaluating vendor access requests, setting up time-limited sessions, monitoring active connections, and handling vendor access termination.
Incident response practicals
Work through a simulated OT security incident: identification, classification, initial containment actions, escalation, and handover to an incident response team.
